Artwork for Sign Manufacturing: A Trade Partner Checklist

Send vector artwork when available, with overall dimensions, measurement units and quantity. Include a reference image to show the intended appearance. If you only have a photograph or raster logo, send it for review and identify which dimensions and construction details still need confirmation.

Vector artwork and lettering

Vector paths help define the intended letter and logo shapes. Where possible, convert text to outlines and retain an editable original for your own records. Confirm file compatibility with Signbuild before transferring production files.

Dimensions and units

State overall width and height with inches or millimetres. Identify whether dimensions refer to the complete sign, an individual letter or a mounting panel. Mark quantities and any variations in wording or size.

Colours and lighting

Include finish and colour references rather than relying on a screen image alone. For illuminated work, identify the lighting style and desired light colour. The appearance of an unlit finish may differ from its illuminated appearance.

Site and mounting references

Include photographs of the installation area where available, the mounting-surface description and any relevant drawings. Clearly separate measured information from estimates. Confirm site-specific electrical, accessibility and engineering requirements with the responsible parties.

Before production approval

Review spelling, logo shape, dimensions, quantity, finish, lighting and fixing details on the final project drawing. A generated catalogue image illustrates a product type; it is not an approved drawing or a guarantee of the finished appearance.
